Why Not Work From Home?

No.1 Article of Puerto Rico Vacation Deals Advertisements

Many people work from home for many separate reasons. For some, it is because they have no choice: they have been unable to find paid employment elsewhere for anyone reason, so they have decided to make work for themselves. For others, it is straight through choice: they prefer to spend time at home with loved ones for instance, or they prefer not to commute.

Working from home can be one of two things: either you are still an laborer with a boss - but with the freedom of outworking (maybe as a perk of the job ie to negate your tour costs or allow flexibility of time), or as a necessity of the job (ie. If there is lack of premium space at the office).

Alternatively maybe You Are "The Boss", and you have made the known decision to work for yourself because that is the way you want it. Only you pick to work from your home base and not from the charge of a primary office outside. So, in effect, you are Working From Home. Good for you!

Why Not Work From Home?

Working from home requires dedication and self-motivation either you are reaching targets set by the company, or working all hours you can to get your own business up and running from scratch. either way, working from home means that there are still expenses incurred with furnishing a home office. Amazingly enough, not every business seems to make provision for this, as the fact that you are "allowed" to work from home appears to make them oblivious of the costs you may have to bear eg. Further tool such as computer or phone line, and heating, lighting and other running costs. Check with your manager if they (or you) are thinkable, to bear these costs, and work out either the recovery in tour or other charge will be offset by the Further costs you do have.

If you are your own boss, you can claim back many of the expenses straight through your tax. You must of course be registered as a self-employed someone with the relevant authorities for the purpose of your tax and national assurance (or other contributions as approved in your own country). And importantly, keep on top of your accounts! Keep all receipts and if you deal with online sales and purchases, remember to print off these as they become available so that you don't forget to add them into your "income" and "expenditure".

Working from home - if you are working for yourself only - has many advantages and you will be the best judge of what is the most advantage to you. Is it the quality to work intermittent hours (eg. Start early, go and play golf, come back and terminate off?) or is it because you have no-one breathing down your neck to get the job done? As someone who has worked from home for several years now, I can see the good and bad points of both examples above. Who wouldn't want to take a break from work when they feel like it; but don't forget if You Are The Boss, when you take a break from it all, then the work is not going to be done by anyone else, is it?

No-one likes someone "breathing down their necks" because it makes us feel uncomfortable and under pressure. But if you have no-one to reply to but yourself, are you going to be sufficiently self-motivated to work hard and get the job done, even when no-one for real cares (but you) what the end results may be?

Someone once told me to Work Smart, Not Hard. Wise words. But you for real will reap what you sow and when it comes to running your own business this is never more true. Work hard at the beginning and set yourself targets; only by setting targets can you gauge either you are reaching your goals. You should use the Smart principle: make your objectives Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound.

For instance, if you want to accomplish 50 phone calls, you could set the objective to make 10 telephone calls a day for 5 days. This is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound. So by the end of that 5 day period you would have achieved what you set out to do ie make 50 phone calls. If you had merely said "I must make some phone calls soon" you would have nothing to part your success (or failure).

If you for real want to work Smart, you should get complex in the kind of home business that helps and supports you: the "work for yourself, but not by yourself" kind. Some people may go the franchise way. Lots of opportunities out there, with lots of support. But these are regularly Very high-priced and contribute minuscule opportunities in areas available; often they will want a high road proximity too (eg. Subway, or McDonald's) so they are not Work From Home opportunities, but rather Work For Yourself ones. You are not just your own boss either, but may have to hire other staff which requires Further skills.

If you are simply seeing for a home-based business opportunity, where you can pick your own hours and do not have to hire others (but can pick to introduce others into a team whereby their efforts will also help build a residual wage for you over a period of time), then take a fresh look at Direct Sales.

Many clubs are gift direct sales opportunities as the ideal for them to shop their products, and the ideal way for individuals to earn money working from home as a self-employed or independent distributor. Think of Avon, Mary Kay, Virgin Cosmetics, The BodyShop at Home, Kleeneze and others.

Most direct sales opportunities have minimal outlay only required (you most probably will be asked for a registration fee, or to buy a sample kit or purchase your own catalogues or other sales and promotional materials) and of course the rewards are in direct relation to your own efforts. With sufficient people built over time into your "team" you can then afford to go off and play that round of golf, or take a few days vacation, without losing the benefits of what you have already worked so hard to achieve. That is for real working Smarter, not harder. Look at your direct sales business as just that: a business, and Plan it just as you would with any other. It's not sufficient just to sign up for the opportunity and then sit back and do nothing. You have to be prepared to shop yourself, treat this as a serious opportunity to make money.

Don't be misled though. Direct sales can be disappointing. people might want to attend your party plan for, say, jewelery or other luxury items, but this may only be out of curiosity or because they are doing you a favour as a friend (they might even feel sorry for you!) All they have done is waste your high-priced time and if you have no sales from the party, you may lose your incentive to try again. Knock backs can be hard. To avoid such disappointment, You Must pick A product That You Know people Will Love; something you know they will want to repeat buy (not just a passing fad, or for one off use) and something that brings a advantage to their daily life. And don't limit yourself to a marketing a product which requires lots of personal time and attention to bring it to market. For instance, some obscure product which requires you to personally gift and demonstrate it; pick something which needs minuscule (if any) explanation; something which is automatically available to customers via the internet is also a good idea.

If it is something that you already know personally, use and feel comfortable talking about to others, then you have all the ingredients for a prosperous home-based business right in front of you. Think of Chocolate for instance. 9 out of 10 people eat the stuff! Who do you know that loves chocolate? This is a major home-based business opportunity right now in Usa, Puerto Rico, Canada, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand - and with Further opportunities in the Uk and Europe from the year 2009.
